I'm Kelli and I help busy families plan amazing (and magical) vacations without the stress and overwhelm.
One of the things I’ve always loved about Disney is how it turns the ordinary into something magical. It’s not only the headliner attractions that stick with you—it’s the little details. A bundle of balloons floating on Main Street. The smell of popcorn and cotton candy while elephants soar with the castle in the background. That moment you breathe in the salty air as you board a pirate boat. None of those things are big on their own, but they’re the moments that linger long after the trip is over and the ones that feel like home when you experience them again.
And honestly? I think life is the same way.
As a mom, it’s easy to feel pressure to create “big” memories for our kids. The elaborate vacations, the perfectly planned birthday parties, the Pinterest-worthy holidays. But when I look back, what I remember most from my own childhood—and what my kids often talk about now—are the small, ordinary moments. Bedtime stories. Singing along in the car. Sitting around the table eating pancakes on a Saturday morning.
This is something God has been gently teaching me: the little things matter. In fact, they’re often where He meets us most clearly.
Scripture reminds us in Zechariah 4:10 not to “despise the day of small things.” It’s in the small, faithful moments that God builds something beautiful. Just like Disney’s hidden details add to the magic of the parks, God’s fingerprints are hidden in our daily routines—if we slow down enough to see them.
Disney taught me to notice the details, to pause for the little things, and to find magic tucked into ordinary moments. Faith takes it a step further: those details aren’t just happy coincidences—they’re blessings. They’re reminders that God is near and active in the everyday.
When I bring those two together—Disney’s delight in the small and faith’s assurance that God is in the details—I find myself slowing down. I start noticing the sparkle in what would’ve felt routine.
If you’re in a season where the days feel repetitive or overwhelming, can I gently remind you: the little things matter. The bedtime prayers. The car ride conversations. The way your family lingers around the dinner table. They might not feel big, but they’re shaping your family’s story.
You don’t have to wait for the “once-in-a-lifetime” trip to Disney, or the perfect family photo, or the milestone event to celebrate life. God is writing beauty into your ordinary days right now!
So today – look for the small moments. Notice them. Thank God for them! They’re the hidden Mickeys in your story, pointing you back to His goodness and faithfulness.
Because joy isn’t just found in the big things—it’s woven into the little ones. And those little things? They’re what make real life magical.
