Garden Grill: A Character Dining Favorite in EPCOT

If there’s one restaurant I find myself recommending over and over, it’s Garden Grill in EPCOT. We’ve eaten here for lunch twice in the last year, and both times it was a hit for our whole crew—characters, food, and atmosphere included!

Why We Love Garden Grill

Garden Grill is tucked inside The Land Pavilion (the same building as Soarin’ and Living with the Land). What makes it extra special is that the restaurant rotates slowly as you eat, giving you little glimpses into the Living with the Land ride below. It’s such a fun touch, and the kids love spotting the scenes as we go around.

The characters here are some of our favorites: Chip, Dale, Mickey, and Pluto. They’re playful, interactive, and really take their time with each table. On this visit, it happened to be Pluto’s birthday, and when he came to our table, we all sang “Happy Birthday” to him. He was so happy he wagged his tail and did a little dance—definitely a core memory for us!

Even my teens love it here (and if you know teens, that’s saying something).

The Food

Garden Grill is served family-style with a preset menu, which I personally love. Everything comes right to your table, and you can ask for more of anything you’d like. No juggling plates at a buffet while chasing a toddler!

Our meal included:

• Cornbread with honey butter
• Harvest-inspired garden salad (with produce grown inside Living with the Land!)
• Backyard grilled steak with chimichurri
• Rotisserie roasted turkey with pan gravy
• Farm fresh green beans
• Homestyle mashed potatoes
• Seasonal vegetables
• Mac & cheese (a big hit with the kids!)

For dessert, it changes seasonally—this summer it was strawberry shortcake, while on our last visit it was a delicious peach cobbler. The kids also loved their fun little Farmer Mickey cupcake cups. Pro tip: you can always check the current menu online (or ask your travel agent 😉) to see what’s being served during your trip.

It’s not fussy or over-the-top—it’s hearty, fresh, and satisfying. And honestly, it’s always such a nice break from quick-service meals in the parks.

Why It Works for Families

• Less chaotic than a buffet. The preset, family-style menu keeps everyone in their seats and makes it easier for families with younger kids.
• Consistent character time. Mickey, Pluto, Chip, and Dale rotate often—you’ll usually see each of them more than once.
• Unique setting. The rotating restaurant and Living with the Land views make it feel unlike anywhere else at Disney.
• Memorable moments. From playful character antics to special surprises (Pluto’s kept sneaking by and “kissing” the people sitting on the outside chairs at our table), there’s always something magical!

Mom-to-Mom Tips

• Book breakfast if you’re budget-conscious. Breakfast will always be the lowest price point, with lunch and dinner slightly higher. Booking based on both your budget and your family’s meal preferences is the way to go.
• Pair it with EPCOT favorites. Since it’s in The Land Pavilion, it’s easy to ride Soarin’ or Living with the Land before or after your meal.
• Don’t stress picky eaters. The mac & cheese is always a crowd-pleaser and the preset menu has plenty of “safe” and hearty options – nothing is spicy or heavily seasoned.
• Check the current menu. Seasonal desserts rotate, so it’s fun to see what sweet treat you’ll get to try!
• Vegan friends can dine, too! There’s an alternate plant-based menu available as well, so don’t skip Chip & Dale’s Harvest Feast if you have special diet needs!

Final Thoughts

Garden Grill was a favorite growing up and has quickly become one of our family’s favorite dining experiences at Walt Disney World. Between the fresh, family-style food, the playful character interactions, and the unique setting, it checks all the boxes for a memorable meal!
